🪓 Barbarian Quick Guide
Core Features
Rage
Bonus action, lasts 1 min.
Damage bonus, advantage on STR checks/saves, resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, slashing.
Limited uses (2 at L1, scaling with level). Choose wisely!
Reckless Attack
Your melee attacks (STR-based) have advantage this turn.
All attack rolls against you have advantage until your next turn.
Rule of thumb: only worth it when your total attacks ≥ enemy’s total attacks.
Avoid vs. enemies with Multiattack or when outnumbered.
🐻 Path of the Totem Warrior
Pick an animal spirit at 3rd, 6th, 14th level.
Bear (3rd: Resistance Totem)
Resistance to all damage but psychic while raging.
Tank option: draw fire, soak damage.
Eagle
Dash as a bonus action while raging.
Disengage-like benefit: enemies have disadvantage on opportunity attacks vs. you.
Lv14: Fly up to your movement speed when raging.
Wolf
Allies have advantage on melee attacks vs. creatures within 5 ft of you (while raging).
Lv14: Knock Large or smaller enemies prone when you hit with STR attacks.
Great for team synergy.
🪶 Path of the Ancestral Guardian
Role: Protector / Defender.
Ancestral Protectors (Lv3):
First creature you hit on your turn is marked.
That creature has disadvantage on attack rolls vs. anyone but you.
If it hits someone else anyway, that ally has resistance to the damage.
Playstyle:
- Prioritize tagging high-threat enemies to shield allies.
⚡ Other Subclasses (Highlights)
Zealot (damage-focused, divine flavor)
Extra radiant/necrotic damage.
Easy to revive (cheap resurrection).
Storm Herald (elemental auras while raging).
Battlerager (spiked armor grappler; dwarf-only by default).
Beast (grow natural weapons, mutate while raging).
Wild Magic (chaotic effects when raging).
