Role: 🛡️ Frontliner / Support
You excel at protecting allies, controlling the battlefield, and punishing enemies with divine power.


🧭 Combat Strategy

  • Position yourself between enemies and allies — your value lies in keeping others safe.
  • Use spells and auras to control fights and maintain advantage.
  • Think tactically: you don’t have many spell slots, so choose the right moment to turn the tide.

✝️ Channel Divinity

(Uses refresh on a Short or Long Rest)
🌀 Typically safe to use once per encounter.

🛡️ Oath of Devotion

  • Sacred Weapon: Add CHA bonus to attack rolls for 1 minute (requires action).
  • Turn the Unholy: Turn fiends and undead within 30 ft.

🌿 Oath of the Ancients

  • Nature’s Wrath: Use vines to restrain a creature (STR or DEX save).
  • Turn the Faithless: Turn fey and fiends within 30 ft.

⚔️ Oath of Vengeance

  • Abjure Enemy: Frighten one enemy; speed = 0 if fiend or undead.
  • Vow of Enmity: Bonus action — gain advantage on attack rolls vs one enemy for 1 minute.

🏰 Oath of Conquest

  • Conquering Presence: Frighten creatures of your choice within 30 ft.
  • Guided Strike: +10 to a single attack roll (after you see the roll).

🕊️ Oath of Redemption

  • Emissary of Peace: +5 to Persuasion checks for 10 minutes.
  • Rebuke the Violent: Reaction — deal radiant damage equal to damage dealt to an ally (WIS save halves).

Spellcasting

  • Spell slots refresh on a Long Rest.
  • Prepare a number of spells each day = CHA modifier + half your Paladin level.
  • Choose carefully — too many options can cause decision fatigue.

💥 Bonus Action Smite Spells

(Most require Concentration)
Prepare at least one or two at all times.

Recommended early-level picks:

  • Thunderous Smite: Knock a creature prone and push it away.
  • 😱 Wrathful Smite: Frighten target on hit.
  • 🔥 Searing Smite: Add fire damage over time.
  • 💎 Branding Smite: Reveals invisible foes and adds radiant damage.

Remember:
💫 Smite spells ≠ Divine Smite.

  • Divine Smite (no concentration) uses spell slots after hitting.
  • Smite spells (require concentration) trigger on your next hit.

🌈 Auras (Level 6+)

  • Aura of Protection (Lvl 6):
    Allies within 10 ft add your CHA mod to saving throws.
  • Aura of Courage (Lvl 10):
    You and allies within 10 ft can’t be frightened.
  • Aura Range Scales:
    • 10 ft → 30 ft at Level 18
      🧍‍♂️ Allies must stay near you to benefit from your auras.

⚙️ Quick Tips

  • 💎 Lay on Hands: Always keep a few HP in reserve to revive downed allies.
  • 🔥 Divine Smite: Save higher spell slots for big crits or boss fights.
  • 🛡️ Defense Style is great for tanking; Dueling Style boosts damage when using a shield.
  • ☀️ Channel Divinity + Smite combo can one-shot many foes early on.
  • 📿 Your Charisma fuels both your magic and leadership — invest in it!
